Learn the Game. Build Your Skills. Have Fun!
Whether you’re picking up a tennis racquet for the very first time, or looking to become more comfortable on the court, Erica offers fun, supportive beginner tennis lessons for kids and adults throughout the Binghamton, Vestal, and Owego region.
How it began…
Erica picked up tennis on a whim, after a friend of her Mom’s asked if she could hit balls with her, right before her freshman year of high school. She hit balls that day, loved it, immediately nagged her parents for a racquet, and joined her high school tennis team. She continued her tennis career at Elizabethtown College, where she played Division III tennis.
Erica took her first actual tennis lesson in her late 30s, when she started coaching high school tennis. (Previous to this she was a high school basketball coach.) She also started playing USTA League tennis and has played many USTA Eastern Regional and Sectional Tournaments. She loves the sport for many reasons- she loves playing it competitively, is grateful for all the friendships she’s made through it, and appreciates the physical and mental benefits of it. No matter what is happening in life, she knows the court is always there waiting for her, along with all of her tennis buddies. She loves sharing this love of her favorite sport with others!
Erica is an experienced athletic coach, health educator, and athlete who has coached more than 35 seasons of athletics, primarily Varsity Girls and Boys Tennis. She holds a New York State Coaching License, is Safe Play approved through the USTA, and has earned the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Coach Levels 1, 2, & 3 Certifications as a Tennis Coach. Erica also leads summer enrichment tennis camps for 3rd-12th graders in Tioga County, New York.
Her approach to tennis instruction is simple: learn, practice, connect, and have fun! Lessons are designed to help players develop fundamental tennis skills while building confidence and enjoying time on the court.

A fun introduction to tennis for young players who are interested in learning the game, becoming more comfortable on the court, or preparing to participate on their school team or USTA Junior Team Tennis.
Adults
Whether you’re completely new to tennis, or want to feel more confident joining friends to hit with or play a set, beginner lessons provide a welcoming way to learn the fundamentals and get moving.
Small Groups
Grab a friend, sibling, partner, teammate, or family member and learn together! Small group lessons are a fun and affordable way to get instruction while enjoying the social side of tennis. And the social side is often the best side!
Where & When
Lessons are held at public tennis courts throughout the Binghamton, Vestal, and Owego region during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
Because outdoor tennis is seasonal, players interested in continuing to develop their skills during the winter are encouraged to consider clinics or indoor programming at their local tennis club.
Check out our “Workout” menu item to learn about our Workout on the Courts– a strength, footwork, and injury prevention program for racquet players that’s available all year!
